From Palm Sunday to Easter Sunday

Holy Week takes place over the final seven days of Jesus’ earthly ministry. La Jolla Community Church encourages everyone to participate in Holy Week services and events to have a greater context on Easter Sunday.

Palm Sunday Services

April 14, 2019
Kick-off Holy Week with us as we look back at Jesus’ triumphant return to Jerusalem. Pastor Steve Murray will give a sermon on “When Love Came to Town” at 9:00 and 10:45 am (normal service times). Programs for children and youth will happen as they usually do on Sunday mornings. Make sure to stay for a complimentary brunch after both services.

Maundy Thursday (Group Dinners)

April 18, 2019
We invite you to reflect on Jesus’ last meal with his disciples by gathering for potluck meals in homes any night during Holy Week. This is a great time to plan a dinner with your Life Group. If you’re not in a Life Group or need assistance, we would love to help you facilitate this meal. We can connect you with others who want to gather. Contact Ian O’Meara at Ian@LJCC.org if you have questions or concerns. Download a guide for hosting a dinner.

Good Friday Service

April 19, 2019
Good Friday is a Family Service at La Jolla Community Church from 6:30-7:30 pm. On Good Friday we remember the last moments of Christ’s life. The service will include worship, prayer stations, Communion, and a message by Pastor Steve Murray on “When Love Saved the World.” We will be referencing the crucifixion but the content is appropriate for families. Childcare is provided for Infants through Kindergartners; all other children and youth are invited to participate in the family service with adults.

Easter Sunday Services

April 21, 2019
8:00, 9:30, and 11:00 am
Easter Sunday marks Jesus’ resurrection three days after His crucifixion. The great stone blocking his tomb had been rolled away, leaving the tomb empty. Join us in celebrating with three worship services. Services are approximately one hour in length. Join us for a message by Pastor Steve Murray and music by the LJCC Worship Band with special guest musicians. Age-appropriate programs are available for children and youth at all three services.
